The newly-elected Shabana chairman, Patrick Lumumba Nyaberi, speaking in Nairobi yesterday said the club had sealed yet another contract -- for the umpteenth time - with the outspoken if not temperamental coach.
In fact, Jacobsen himself is right now in Nairobi with the team for the weekend warm-up matches.
Nyaberi said: "We have already completed the signing of the contract with Jacobsen who is already at work, handling the team. We would like him to instil discipline in the players and mould a winning combination.
"We have asked the players to strictly observe discipline and train hard. It is our intention to reduce the number of players to a manageable and affordable playing unit."
He said they want to cut down on the squad in a bid to make them (the players) more professional and accountable as they start receiving their emoluments from Muema and Kigotho Associates who have been engaged to take charge of the day-today running of the club's financial management of the players and officials.
He said: "We have so far identified a local company called White Mix Marketing Company to handle the the marketing affairs for the club sponsors."
He said the club had embarked on what he called an "extra-ordinary way" of identifying and recruiting members for "our beloved club" by using special cards for 2001. Each will be on sale for Sh100.
The club, he explained, had urged its supporters' branches, especially those in Kisii and Nairobi to foster good and cordial relationship with their counterparts in other clubs and avoid causing trouble during league and other competition matches.
"This time we want to see Shabana winning a top award for having the best behaved fans," he added.
