Five Killed in Kisii Matatu Accident

Five people were yesterday afternoon killed on the spot when a matatu they were travelling in rammed into a tree near Keroka town in Kisii District.

Eight other passengers were admitted at Hema Hospital in Keroka town with multiple fractures.

Police in Keroka who had a difficult time controlling heavy traffic following the accident said the matatu lost control and hit a the tree killing four men and one woman who could not be immediately identified.

The accident according to the police, occurred at around 2 pm and it was suspected the passengers could have been travelling to a funeral.
