ODM motorcade stoned in Kisii

Several people were injured in confrontations after an ODM motorcade was stoned in Kitutu Chache Constituency. ODM presidential running mate, Mr Musalia Mudavadi, escaped a hail of stones aimed at his convoy at Nyakegogi market on Wednesday.

Mudavadi and several party leaders were driving to their last rally of the day when they were attacked by suspected PNU supporters. The attackers sprung into action just as Mudavadi prepared to address a crowd that surged to meet him. Swift action by his bodyguards and riot police saved him and his colleagues. Two of the attackers were beaten by the public before police arrested them.

Mudavadi later addressed the crowd and condemned the incident.
