Ruto and Magara flown to hospital after being attacked in kisii.

ODM leaders William Ruto and Omingo Magara have been flown to Nairobi Hospital after they were attacked by rowdy youth in Nyamarambe in Kisii. The two, who were accompanied by a parliamentary aspirant are said to have landed in a place where Ford People leader Simeon Nyachae and eight other Ford People MPs were holding a rally.

Ruto and Magara were attacked by Ford People supporter armed with bows and arrows just as they disembarked from a chopper that had flown them to a youth funds drive in South Mugirango. The attackers are claimed to have pelted stones at them sending them running for their dear lives. The situation worsened after Magara's bodyguard ran out of ammunition while firing in the air to in a failed attempt to scare away the mob.

The ODM brigade luckily made it to their chopper, which took off under a barrage of stones. Receiving the injured MPs at Wilson Airport, ODM's presidential running mate Musalia Mudavadi accused police of not preventing the attack.

They termed the attack political. Musalia, is however calling on the ODM supporters to exercise maximum restraint.
