Anyona Burial Within Two Weeks

His family member, Mr Samuel Mageto, said they will announce the burial date and other arrangements at a press conference to be held today in Kisii town after they clear the mortuary bill.
Samuel, who is the eldest son of Stephenson Mageto, stressed that their family has been united in their preparations to give the late Anyona a heroic send off contrary to media reports, which have been suggesting that there was a rift in their family.
Samuel said a delegation from their family that included his father and Anyona's other brothers and son Kwameh had held a consultative meeting on Monday and resolved to inter his remains within the next two weeks.
He also indicated that Anyona's sisters were given the go-ahead to liase with Gachuba clan elders in looking for a traditional exorcist who would cleanse the house that Mageto and the deceased's friends built for him at his Nyamira home.
He indicated that the cleansing ceremony was necessary following the incident in which the body was initially taken to the house last December 6 but had to be removed to be taken back to the mortuary while Mageto and other family members sought to clear the former MPs name over the Sh2.3 million belonging to Chabumba women group officials.
Mageto has been up in arms against people he claimed had maligned Anyona when he was alive by claiming that he (deceased) had embezzled the money belonging to the women group.
