A bank manager is to be cross-examined over a women's group account transactions which are at the centre of the George Anyona burial saga.
Mr Francis Ogwao, the National Bank Kisii branch manager, is to appear in court on March 22 to clarify conflicting details of the Chabumba Women Groups account.
Making the ruling yesterday, Principal Magistrate Samuel Soita cited one such discrepancy as the withdrawal of part of the money from Account Number 012020307200, yet the money - Sh1,054,182.20 - had actually been banked in Account Number 104-060-387 on June 7, 1997.
Lawyers Francis Moriasi, for Chabumba officials, and Mr Leonard Ombachi, for Anyona's brother Stephenson Mageto, had applied for the manager to be brought to court.
They want him to explain the discrepancies in account signatories, conflicting account numbers and other documents.
Yesterday, several Kisii residents urged the family to dispose of the body while continuing their battle to expose those who accuse Anyona of embezzling the money.
