Former MP Michoma is Dead

Former nominated MP Stephen Getuno Michoma, who was also chairman of the Coffee Board of Kenya (CBK), is dead.

Michoma died on Thursday evening at a Nakuru hospital where he had been admitted for nearly three months.

Breaking the news of Michoma's death, his son, James Machuka Michoma, a Nakuru politician, said the father had acute diabetes.

He said his father had suffered a stroke at the time of his death.

Machuka said his 78-year-old father died while receiving treatment at the Nakuru Annex Hospital.

Michoma was nominated to Parliament after the 1979 General Election. He was nominated for a second term in 1983 and
He served as a councillor for the larger Kisii county council from independence up to 1979 when he was nominated to Parliament.

Michoma hails from Keumbu division in Kisii. Nyaribari Masaba MP Hezron Manduku sent a message of condolence to the family.
