The MP's termed the payment deal by the former Government over a 10-year period as too long and some teachers may not live to benefit from it.
The five legislators Messrs Samson Okioma, Henry Obwocha, Godfrey Masanya, Zebedeo Opore and Jimmy Angwenyi said the Government had also promised teachers that if they take over leadership they will implement the deal within a shorter period.
Speaking in Kisii town, the MPs said teachers deserved good pay for the noble job they do.
Okioma, who is the Kitutu Masaba MP, said the former Government had reduced teachers to paupers.
The MPs also called for the scrapping of 8-4-4 system which they said was a big burden to teachers, parents and pupils.
