Politicians Call for new meeting to end clashes

Mr Godfrey Masanya (North Mugirango), Mr Omingo Magara (South Mugirango) and Mr Joel Onyancha (Bomachoge) blamed cattle rustling for the skirmishes on the Kisii/Trans Mara, Nyamira/Buret and Migori district borders.
They said they would meet Mr Anthony Kimetto (Sotik) Mr Gideon Konchella (Trans Mara) and Mr Ochillo Ayacko (Rongo) to brainstorm on the problems facing their constituents.
Speaking separately, the politicians called on the Kisii, Maasai, Kipsigis and Luo to co-exist peacefully.
Mr Masanya urged district security committees to convene a meeting between elders of the Kisii and Kipsigis communities to discuss how insecurity could be tackled.
He urged Internal Security minister Chris Murungaru to set up more police stations along the border.
