Two Deny Assaulting Former Bonchari MP

Two people were yesterday charged with assaulting former Bonchari MP Zebedeo Opore.

Mr George Onyando Nyamagiri and Mr Marasa Otieno Evans were accused before a Kisii court of attacking Mr Opore on November 25.

They denied the charge and were released on Sh10, 000 each with one surety in the same amount until after two weeks when the case will be mentioned. The prosecution said witnesses included former Kitutu Chache MP Mr Jimmy Angwenyi.

Mr Opore is the Ford People candidate for Bonchari seat.

In the same court, Mr Eric Areri was sentenced to death for robbery with violence. Three other suspects, Mr Vincent Nyariki, Mr Wilfred Isoe and Mr Jared Getenga were acquitted for lack of evidence.
