Mr Henry Obwocha and Mr Mwancha Okioma said the responsibility must be taken back by the Teachers Service Commission.
Mr Obwocha said board members had abused the policy by seeking bribes from job seekers and employing relatives.
Addressing a Press conference in Kisii yesterday, the MPs welcomed the announcement by the new TSC secretary-general, Mr James Ongwae, that the government would soon start employing new teachers.
While welcoming the government's policy for free education, the Ford People Mps said lack of enough teachers was likely to affect the provision of Quality education.
Meanwhile the Nyamira KNUT branch Executive Secretary Mr Richard Kibagendi took issue with remarks attributed to Vice President Mr Wamalwa Kijana that the government will only implement the teachers' salary award upon the resumption of foreign aid.
"What if the resumption is delayed for another ten years? Posed Mr Kibagendi.
He said that teachers were getting impatient with the government's pledge to implement the a ward. ENDS
