CDF official goes missing with project cash

A West Mugirango CDF official is being sought over the disappearance of money from the kitty. Nyamira DC Ali Muktar made the order during the launch of the new committee on Saturday. It was said the official disappeared with Sh148,000 meant for a project.

Nyamaiya district officer Maina Ngunyi told the West Mugirango MP, Dr James Gesami, that the former CDF official had gone into hiding after failing to account for the money. Dr Gesami and the DC asked the new officials to use funds from the kitty transparently. “I urge the new officials to liaise with various government departments and other partners engaged in development activities in order to avoid duplicating their work,” Mr Muktar said.

Dr Gesami said he had engaged home grown professionals working in various universities to draw a master plan to be used in developing West Mugirango constituency.
