Last week, for the second time, police were ordered to arrest Mr Walter Enock Nyambati for failing to appear before the court, but the MP went to court and denied that he stood surety for the suspect.
However, police told Kibera senior resident magistrate Cosmas Maundu that they went to registrar of persons and got the MP’s identity number used on the disputed bond. Mr Nyambati stood surety for Mr Job Ochieng Opar.
Mr Opar, who was working for Newline Ltd as an accountant, was charged alongside Mr Filbert Okari Onyoni and Ms Mildred Naku Wafula with stealing Sh2.3 million from their employer. The case will be mentioned on February 10.
