Confessed bhang farmer fined

A man who admitted to cultivating bhang in his shamba has been fined Sh10,000 by a Gucha court. Ambrose Osoro Nyabwari pleaded guilty before Ogembo Senior Resident Magistrate Lily Nafula.

On November 24, last year, at Bogetenga Gucha South, police officers from Nyamarambe Chief’s Camp got a tip off and proceeded to Nyabwari’s shamba where they found 57 plants of cannabis sativa grown in the maize farm. Some plants were presented in court as exhibits. He will serve eight months in jail in default.
