Sungu Sungu beheads three men

People believed to be members of the Sungu Sungu vigilante group have beheaded three men. Two of the victims in their early 20s were picked from Nyanchwa village while the third was taken from Botori in the outskirts of Kisii town.

The deceased’s hands were tied behind their backs and the dismembered heads placed next to the bodies.Kisii OCS Casto Katiku said: "We are treating this as normal murders."Relatives, who sought anonymity, said about 50 people armed with pangas, axes and machetes raided the deceased’s homes and flushed them out at 10pm on Saturday night.

Some residents said the slain had criminal records known to the public and police.Local DCIO Mohammed Issa said the circumstances of the attacks would be investigated.
