As we approach the General Election, let us all practise democracy devoid of tribalism. The recent chaos at Nyamarambe in South Mugirango left many dismayed. We should not entertain such cases since we are not in the Stone Age. How can a senior citizen and Cabinet minister inspect a guard of honour mounted by an outlawed group? The group then proceeded to attack his fellow Kenyans. Even if somebody was not required to attend the Nyamarambe function, there were better ways of telling them to keep off.
Chinkororo group is the Kisii version of the dreaded Mungiki. Therefore, stern action needs to be taken to dismantle this group. The group normally emerges during the election period. I appeal to the Gusii people to stop being used by politicians to cause mayhem. Let us be wise so as to bring development in our areas.
