Raila must use ODM symbol

At a rally in Kisii last week, ODM-Kenya presidential aspirant Mr Raila Odinga was captured on KTN waving a hammer. This is a dangerous move that could cause division in the party because an orange is ODM’s symbol. It is unfortunate that the party disciplinary committee did not question him over this.

What could have happened if another presidential aspirant had used a different symbol? The voices of interim chairman Mr Henry Kosgey and secretary-general Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o could never have been louder. ‘Hammer’ is not the party symbol and Raila’s use of it is just another indication of his self-centered politics.
