I thought government offices close at 4.30 pm, when most organs of the government stop working but this is not the case in Gucha District. Here one can spot government vehicles running errands as late as 9 pm. Is this district not within the boundaries of Kenya? And why are these vehicles not available during emergencies but are readily available to ferry politically collect leaders when they have private matters to attend to. Moreover, there are several "grounded" vehicles at Ogembo health center, one Land Rover at the court grounds which seems to be perfect. On top of that, there are several "grounded’ government vehicles at the police station and several more at the Gucha District headquarters. How badly damaged are these cars that they cannot be repaired?
Many administrative vehicles from Gucha operate without vital components such as headlights, indicators and reflective materials. Some of these have been involved in accidents but not repaired. Can the authorities concerned please do more to safeguard State property?
