New Kisii Judge Formally Takes Over

Mr Justice Kaburu Bauni formally took over as the Kisii High Court judge yesterday, replacing suspended judge Isaac Wambilyangah.

He held lengthy meetings with local magistrates and advocates. Mr Justice Wambilyangah moved out his official residence two weeks ago and is settled in his rural home in western Kenya.

The high profile cases Mr Justice Bauni is expected handle include one in which eight suspects, among them a councillor, a chief and a journalist, are charged with the murder of two chiefs in Suneka Division in June.
