Gianchere stage spectacular comeback to beat Gucha

Gianchere Football Club came from a goal down to beat hosts Gucha  FC 3-1 in the Nyanza South Football Kenya Limited Provincial League’s last first round match held over the weekend.

Dennis Ongeri put Gucha FC ahead in the 37th minute to give his team a Victorious 1-0 lead at the breather, the Victory was however Short lived as in the second half, a rejuvenated Gianchere scored triple goals in less than ten minutes to give Giachere a 3-1 victory.Gianchere goals came through James Onsare in the 53rd minute, Boaz Odhiambo in the 56th and Magwaro Mokua in the 62nd minute.

In another encounter, Birongo narrowly edged out Vijana 1-0 in a tough match played at Birongo playground. Thomas Moreka scored the lone goal in the 34th minute.

According to local FKL secretary Johana Omare, Vijana finished the first leg on top of zone ‘A’, Gianchere zone ‘B’ and Mwanga in zone ‘C’.
Omare said the second leg will resume on July 3. “We are meeting all clubs on Sunday to review the first leg and plan for the second leg. So far, the league is going on well,”
