Nyachae's Statement: Why I want to become president

I am running for the highest office in our land because it pains me greatly to see the low depths our once great nation has sank due to lack of effective and responsive leadership. While there is no question opportunities have been missed to stop the worsening conditions in our country, I believe all is not lost. I also have strong convictions that the country can be turned around in a very short time because our people are hardworking and they have faith. Indeed, Kenya can arise and move forward again and achieve prosperity never seen before.

This prosperity, however, cannot be achieved if we go on doing business as usual. We need a new kind of government; a government that is efficient, transparent, incorruptible and accountable to the people of Kenya. That type of government cannot exist without having someone at the helm who believes in it and has the experience and will to create it. It is for this reason I seek the presidency because I believe in this type of government and have what it takes to put it in place. As you know, I have for many years tirelessly advocated for efficiency, transparency and accountability in government even in the face of great opposition and what I have learned through these efforts makes me remain steadfast in my believe that we can form just such a government.

Because of the tendency for our leaders to cling to power long after their usefulness, however, I am specifically seeking a one term transition presidency to put together the kind of government I envision to turn the country around. To this end, I plan to rebuild the economy, revamp our institutions, and put the country back on the path to progress which everyone agrees will be the next government's primary challenge.

Finally, in my vision I see a Kenya full of energy; a prospering nation, and a haven of peace and political stability. Yes, things have sunk to the lowest levels, but there is hope. My hope for our country's future is encompassed in the vision that I have outlined in this web site. I hope the information provided in this site will help you join me in seeing that vision and all I ask as you peruse through these pages, is for you to be open minded and hopefully you will find reason to support my candidacy.
