Omwando who was named in his absence during the polls at the Storm Hotel in Kisii on Wednesday, is up in arms because as secretary, he says he was not informed of the meeting.
In a statement, he said: "I have learnt with great displeasure the report appearing in the Daily Nation of Friday regarding the appointments of Shabana FC at Storm Hotel, Kisii."
Apart from Omwando, other officials named to the committee include John Motonda (chairman), Dogo Khan (senior vice-chairman), James Nyamwang'a (treasurer), Rashid Omar (player-coach), Minister for Energy Simeon Nyachae (patron) and Sam Nyamweya (deputy patron ).
But Omwando said: "I wish to categorically say that I, as secretary general, are not aware that the purported meeting took place. Shabana has its existing constitution which must be respected in all matters, including elections."
Contrary to the announcement in that report that Rashid Omar was appointed player-coach, Omwando, yesterday named former Tusker and international star Henry Motego as the club's new tactician. He said: "I wish to announce that Shabana has acquired the services of Henry Motego as coach for the next Premier League season."
Shabana have, in addition, signed four new players - William Odidi, Alfred Njeru, Stephen Kinuthia, Kenneth Omondi - all from the now-defunct Kenya Pipeline.
On the decision by the Independent Disciplinary and Appeals Tribunal to uphold Kangemi United's appeal against them, Omwando said he had not pursued the matter further "following latest developments."
Explaining why Kangemi's appeal was allowed, IDAT chairman Dan Ameyo said it was proved that Edward Nyaseda whom Shabana claimed was a Re-Union player who had illegally been fielded by Kangemi in a league match in April was, in fact, properly acquired from Thika Telkom in January.
It was also noted that Shabana had not filed their appeal within the stipulated 48 hours after the match played in Nairobi on April.
Ameyo said IDAT had also upheld the appeal by Sher Agencies against Chemelil Sugar for changing their date of arrival for the match. He blamed the Kenya Football Federation for posthumously announcing the postponement of the unplayed match.
Apart from Ameyo other IDAT members were Job Omogo, Alfred Okoth and J. O. Momanyi.
