IF BUSH AND SADDAM WERE TO SPEAK THEIR MINDS

Iraq is finally getting what appears to be a respite from the thunderous roar of the so called ‘smart bombs.' The Iraqi people have endured three weeks of maximum terror as they watched coalition forces bombard their country with thousands of bombs and march heavily armored tanks into their cities. Indeed the Iraqi civilians were sandwiched between Coalition forces and the Iraqi forces and pressure descended upon them in an Armageddon like manner. A large part of their national infrastructure has been blown up into piles of rubble. Thousands of their soldiers have been captured and are now prisoners of war, thousands more have died. Not even civilians were spared as the mightiest army on earth rolled into their backyards. Hundreds or even perhaps more than a thousand civilians have ended as collateral damage and numbers of civilian fatalities are certain to rise following the recent wide spread looting that swept throughout Iraq with hospitals being among the targets of opportunistic lawlessness.
What we must understand is that, the coalition forces went into this war as the good guys, so in no way should their conduct be questionable. This war was not a competition of who among the least humane is better. Bush or Saddam? Bush marched into the battle field mounted on a white angelic, horse with an objective of eliminating the thug on the black evil horse. The rules of this war were very unique from the normal conventional rules of engagement. Even, the coalitions central command made it public that Saddam is evil and they expected all kinds of dirty tricks from him, after all that was the reason why they were there to oust Saddam from power.
As the war began, Saddam didn't fail to play his traditional cards of using civilians as human shields and using his irregular forces to deter any civil unrest while the paramilitary and the republican guard fought the invading Coalition force.
Come to think of it, these tricks are not dirty by any decent measure. If I'm a fragile junior and you're a muscular senior and you come to my room to bully and beat me up. Do you expect that I'll only use my wispy limbs to defend my self from your bullying? Why is it wrong to beat a woman? yes, because they are physically weaker. If you want to fight, look for somebody who matches you. Even in boxing, heavy weight champions have the decency to only fight those who are within league.
In as much as I hate Saddam for his past evils. He saved the lives of most of his troops. He didn't order any sortie, He didn't put his troops in the open dessert where the coalition would have massacred them by tens of thousands without hesitation. The coalition shot back, at residential areas using heavy caliber machine guns, and rocket propelled grenades among other sophisticated weapons in total disregard of the helpless civilians who might be held inside as human shield.. So much for the much preached surgical operations. Don't get me wrong, they are not incapable. But such operations are reserved only in cases were an American is the human shield. Then and only then is when they will deem it worth to take their time to save the innocent American surgically. Too bad if you are an Iraqi, you are not worth the effort. They will quickly write you off as collateral damage.
Just think of it. How come the number of Iraqi civilian fatalities, people who are not directly engaged in the war be ten times more than the coalition fatalities, people who are directly engaged in the war. Isn't there something wrong with that picture?
As war gained momentum I saw a lot of disappointment on the face of the knight on the white angelic horse. "Is that all you can do? Reach deep inside and display your potential. There is a lot of evil in you and you can do better than this. Damn it! Launch at least one chemical weapon into Kuwait to save my face. You must be out of your mind. What is this all about? You released American prisoners of war, all seven of them and they say you treated them fairly well. The Saddam I wanted to fight was supposed to be evil not insane. I have killed thousands of your soldiers, hundreds of your civilians, caused more havoc on Iraq infrastructure and buildings than any natural disaster is capable of and you return all these by reserving your most evil cards. I know what you are up to, you want to shame me in front of the world. Well I'm too smart for that. Remember how I swiftly made the world believe that you are Bin Laden, I'll simply tell the world that you moved the weapons to Syria. I have a ready army in place and after all Israel needs more friendly puppet leaders around it."
"Bush I accept that I've done evil and despicable things as an Iraqi president. But in the same way events have caught up with my cruelty so will events catch up with your arrogance and belligerence. You can't fool people forever. We both know that I was never a direct and imminent threat to America. I love power so much to attack America. I know you spend more money on defense than the rest of the world put together. This was about oil, and you aren't even trying to hide your intentions. You military is capable of securing oil wells, but you are not capable of securing hospitals from looting, You're capable of securing your flow of food and ammunition but you are not capable of securing the much needed flow of medicine and medical equipment for the war casualties. You bomb Iraq and what you didn't bomb you sat back and allowed looters to destroy and strip Iraqi cities bare.
Before even an Iraq interim Government is put in place you already have a list of American companies that will get contracts in the reconstruction of Iraq. I know you will win both ways in the $75 billion that Congress has allocated for this purpose. The money will end up profiting the companies that finance your campaigns and enrich your cronies. And most of the Iraq's reconstruction money will come from Iraq's oil. I know I tried to kill you father, This will be wrong if you and your father have never tried to kill me. And it's also about that stupid mosaic picture that I ordered to be drawn on the entrance of Al Rashid Hotel so all guests including Americans can step on your face. Don't give me the liberation baloney, for that was not the pretext of this war and besides there are many nations that need liberation from dictators that you won't do nothing to help, because they don't have oil in the quantities that Iraq has. You said by eliminating me the world will be a better place. What a sick joke! You undermine, overpass and threaten the credibility of United Nations a central body that the whole world from east to west has accepted as the mediator and a channel through which international problems can be solved. You witnessed first hand what happened in Iraq, when their was a vacuum of power. Anarchy ruled. Your arrogance and over handedness has divided the world perfectly. Matter of fact, the world has never been more vulnerable than it is now. All the ingredients for third world war are in place. Your continued belligerence and weakening of the U.N. serve as catalysts. Like the adage goes "the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know."
