TERRORIZED PSYCHOLOGICALLY

The evidence is home. America is not the same as it was before the Sept. 11 attack. The horrendous act has prompted a reexamination and a reevaluation of our lives like never before. Insecurity looms heavy in the air as we come to
grips with the nature and the devastating impact of the situation at hand. America's freedom is under siege by nefarious extremists who have also hijacked the Islam religion for no other reason than to satiate the desires
of their twisted minds.

His name is Osama Bin Laden. He's believed to be the evil force behind the scheme that led to commercial planes crashing into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and into a rural field in Pennsylvania. The present episode is
not the first to be traced back to the Saudi exile currently residing in Afghanistan. The Bombing of the US embassies in East Africa and the blowing of the USS Cole navy ship are other murderous incidents with his face written all over.

His dogged determination has been established and it's unfortunate that he targets noncombatants to get the US government's attention. The question that comes to the fore is: What does he want from America? In not so many words he
wants to purify the world by eliminating all the infidels living in it. He's especially after America, because like in a chess game, if you can manage to get your opponent's queen piece on your first move, it becomes much easier to
topple down the rest of his pieces and eventually emerge as a winner. A careful study on Osama's dirty work will reveal that he's a genius in his own respect. It takes a lot of nerve for one man to proclaim war and sustain a resistance against the mightiest army in the world. The US president George Bush has clearly stated that America is fighting a new kind of war against an invisible enemy.

Take another look at the originality and the effectiveness of using American commercial jets as missiles. The precision with witch they hit their targets rivals the uncanny accuracy of a G.P.A guided missile. To add injury on a
bleeding wound, we are now faced with Anthrax. Odds are, Osama's agents don't have enough supplies of the Deadly spores to mail to every household in America. Since their stock is minimal, they are using it as a psychological weapon rather than a mass murder powder. Osama is getting a kick as he watches news from his cave. He was definitely delighted
when Capitol Hill and the Supreme Court were shut down. It all tells him that he's making progress in scaring the hell out of Americans. The agents have targeted the most sensitive Organs that if infected every American is affected. It was first the media premises, then the Postal Office and without sparing the umbilical cord of the US Government, they also attacked Capitol Hill.

Before you knew it, reporters were having a field day, news anchors readied for the breaking news, Journalists splashed the front pages with articles on Anthrax and Government officials got on their Podiums armed with blow horns to address the nation on the Anthrax issue. There is nothing wrong with informing the nation. In fact it will be wrong, if the Anthrax news was withheld. But then again, this particular news has a virus attached to it, one that is designed to cause mass fear and anxiety. We all don't come with a full proof virus scan. So when news of infected mail and consequent deaths descends upon our ears, most of us are shaken with apprehension. Such trepidation has strangled the economy by slowing down transactions, demoralizing businesses, and inhibiting consumer desire to spend. The situation has devolved farther to widespread layoffs and hire freezes across the board. One is left to wonder whether we're living Osama's vow that, "those living in America shall not find peace until Palestinians Live it."

Those aboard the ill fated jets didn't have much of a choice and couldn't fight back as the hijackers had psychologically prepared them to believe that, they were safe as long as they stayed calm and took their orders. You
know, the old fashioned way as seen in the movies. However those aboard the flight that clashed in rural Pennsylvania fought back after being tipped via cell phones that it was not old style but new style, where the hostages are
part of the missile to destroy a high profile building and it's occupants.I admire the quick wit and courage of those aboard United Airlines Flight 93. They saved an unknown number of lives, when they straggled with the hijackers. The rest of the nation owes it to the deceased heroes by refusing to be intimidated psychologically as this only serves to fulfill Osama's
intentions.
