WHO SMEARED KENYA WITH HONEY?

Here is an adventure, but first, readers are strongly advised not to try it anywhere at anytime. It's lethal and if you won't end up dead you'll certainly be looking like the first case of a smallpox encore. It's simple--- smear honey on your entire self like caress body lotion. I won't guarantee that you will feel sexy, just sweet. Yes, honey will make you sweet, not to the babes but to the bees.
So who smeared honey on Kenya? I normally promote my country to be a land of milk and honey to the curious American girls, whenever they broach the subject of my native country and most of them can't wait for the day I'll take them to Kenya.
Well my ‘honey' mantra found a new meaning when Kenya got bombed for a second time within a time spun of four years. The other day, I happened to be watching the news coverage on the bombing in Kenya with an American. She suddenly distracted my attention, when she asked "Why Kenya?"
To shut her up, so I could finish watching the news I retorted, " Because the country flows with milk and honey."
She believed me and didn't bother me anymore throughout the news coverage. Why couldn't she? America got attacked because of its opulence, by the same group of terrorists that attacked Kenya in 1998.
Biblical scriptures denote milk and honey as the best stuff in paradise. The name of the hotel that got bombed to rubbles was called paradise, the hotel was situated in Kenya. It catered exclusively to Israeli tourists, just like Canaan the land of milk and honey was exclusively meant for the Israelis.
How else can one explain the presence of hundreds of Israelis ( over two hundred in a plane departing from Kenya that missed a missile strike by a whisker and almost the same number alighting from a bus and booking in to paradise hotel ) Kenya must be the other unmentioned land of milk and honey, a phenomenon Israelis identify with so fondly hence their pilgrimage like arrivals in Kenya.
Also, Kenya was evidently sweet and irresistible to the two Americans who were among the twelve suspects detained on the initial arrests. I expected them to depart Kenya hastily, infuriated with anger and scared to death upon their clearance and subsequent release. But they decided that nothing was going to scare them away, they had come to savor the honey, and they were determined to continue from where they had left when the atrocity interrupted their vacation plans.
Unfortunately the same honey that has elevated Kenya to a popular tourist destination, has also made us susceptible to bee attacks. For several reasons that I can't quite point out. Kenya has gained a special appeal to terrorists. We have become a magnet not just to tourists but to terrorists as well. History will feature Kenya on the top list of favorite targets struck by today's terrorists. Among that list we also have the United States Of America, Israel, Britain, France, Germany and Australia. Except for Kenya the rest of the above mentioned countries are developed nations, when Kenya barely qualifies as a developing country. They all have sufficient resources to effectively manage terrorism in all it's stages from the time of an attack to combating the enemy and restoring the damages. Kenya lacks the resources to deal adequately against terrorism attacks. The United States is leading the world in a global war against terrorism. Chess players will tell you that, pawns are of least value on the board, but as the game gains heat one crucial pawn ( though least in value ) can lead the way to the complete annihilation of your opponent.
Such was the case When America didn't act adequately in the 1998 Nairobi bomb blast that left over 220 people dead and injured more than 5000 people. Twelve Americans died on that incident, may be that number wasn't enough for America to launch a full fledge war against terrorism, destabilize their money network and apprehend the perpetrators. The Kenyan victims were inadequately compensated for while their American counterparts were compensated abundantly then, and also after the September eleventh attack on America. The petition of a similar compensation to the 1998 Kenyan bomb blast victims was denied.
If America had given the Kenyan bomb blast the attention it deserved, maybe the chicken wouldn't have come home to roost. The Attack on America could have been averted, if the U.S. Had approached the incident with the similar might we see today. Here also I blame the Kenyan government. What is the work of our armed forced and the C.I.D. ? Why didn't Moi declare war on Osama bin Laden and rally up a coalition against the Taliban who were harboring Osama bin Laden?
Kenya sat on it's buttocks like a maimed dummy and they have struck us again. Why not? We are of no consequent to them, but we are strategic in their war against the west.
