Uhuru calls for high voter turnout
In Kisii yesterday, Uhuru said: "I have no doubt that Kibaki will retain his seat. He is ahead of others. I’m only requesting you to turn out in large numbers and vote for him."
Uhuru held rallies at Masimba, Nyacheki and Nyamira, where he drummed up support for President Kibaki’s re-election and Kanu’s parliamentary and civic candidates.
"Up there, vote for President Kibaki. But for civic and parliamentary, vote for Kanu candidates," said Uhuru who was accompanied by former Cabinet minister, Prof Sam Ongeri, and Bobasi Kanu parliamentary candidate, Mr Justry Nyaberi.
"President Kibaki has done a lot in the past five years," he said at Masimba playground.
