Controversy surrounds the alleged arrest of 15 AP's

One of the suspects involved in the syndicate had to shoot in the air to scare away irate residents who were baying for his blood.
Confirming the incident Kisii Deputy CID boss Alfred Ouko said the papers had earlier been stored in one of the contesting party's local office.
The Deputy CID boss said a similar consignment of Presidential ballot papers had been intercepted by police in Nyatike-Rachuonyo District where 1 AP was killed.
Another consignment that was already marked, according to the CID boss was recovered in Homabay District where three AP's were lynched.
However, concerning the Kisii incident, area police boss Augustine Kimantaria denied any arrests maintaining that the AP's were in the town as reinforcement.
