ODM major loser in Gusii primaries

The final list of the ODM parliamentary nominees for the ten Gusii constituencies has been received with mixed reactions. There were protests in various constituencies where earlier winners were disqualified and consequently denied tickets.

Some politicians who felt short-changed shifted alliances. In Bonchari constituency, Mr Charles Onyancha, who had won the ODM nominations, decamped to SDP after the loser, Mr Joram Keng’ocha, was given the ticket. Onyancha cried foul and pointed a finger at a senior ODM official whom he accused of interfering with the issuance of certificates at Orange House.

In Nyaribari Chache, Mr Chris Bichage also decamped to SDP after Dr Robert Monda successfully argued his case at Orange House and was awarded the ODM ticket.

In Kitutu Chache, Mr Richard Momoima decamped to ODM-Kenya after losing the ODM nominations to Mr James Ongwae. Another ODM loser in the constituency, Mr Justus Mochoge, pulled out of the race although he said he would still support Mr Raila Odinga. Mr Sam Osoro Kebati decamped to the Mazingira party and Mr Julius Ogamba moved to KSC.

In Kitutu Masaba, Mr Nyambega Mose who did not participate in the nominations, was handed the ODM ticket. In Nyaribari Masaba, Former DC, Mr Ezekiel Machogu won the ODM nominations while Prof Charles Mong’oni defected to ODM-Kenya. Mr Amos Nyaribo, who lost the ODM nominations in North Mugirango/Borabu, moved to Kifagio Party of Kenya. In West Mugirango, Dr James Gesami got the ODM ticket but Mr Joseph Rioba had earlier been declared the winner.
