In Gusiiland, ODM Treasurer Mr Omingo Magara leads the party's onslaught for seats in the region. Magara will vie for the South Mugirango seat. The party will field candidates it considers strong against Roads minister Mr Simeon Nyachae. They include Eng Barnabas Ariga, former MP Mr Chris Bichage and Dr Robert Monda.

In Funyula, the ticket would be battled for between Dr Paul Otuoma and Eng Mathias Ogama, among others. In West Mugirango, former Nyanza Provincial Medical Officer Dr Richard Gesami and lawyer Mr Joseph Rioba are seeking the ODM ticket to battle it out with Planning minister Mr Henry Obwocha.

Former PC Mr Ezekiel Machogu has presented his nomination papers seeking to unseat Dr Hezron Manduku of Ford People in Nyaribari Masaba. Former Bomachoge MP Mr Zephania Nyangwara is in the race on an ODM ticket and will be seeking to floor Assistant minister Mr Joel Onyancha of Ford People.

In Kitutu Chache, former Agriculture PS Mr James Ongwae has picked the nomination papers. Ongwae also served as Teachers Service Commission Secretary before his promotion. He battles it out with a former KRA official, Mr Kebati Osoro, and Richard Onyonka, a son of the late minister Zachary Onyonka. Former Finance minister Mr Chris Obure is a party pointman and is seeking the Bobasi seat under Mr Stephen Manoti of Ford People.
