Villagers Lynch 3 Gangsters in Kisii

Three suspected gangsters were killed on Sunday night by angry mobs in separate incidents within Kisii District.

And two other suspected thieves were killed at Itumbe village after allegedly stealing a cow and strangling the owner.

In one of the incidents, a suspect who allegedly stole a table and other household property at Nyamataro area was stoned to death by villagers. He was identified as Peter Malando.

At Bochura area in Nyatieko location, two suspects were overpowered by villagers and killed. Two home-made guns were recovered.

Trouble allegedly erupted when the suspects and four other men went on mugging spree near Nyamukenye Primary School at around midnight.

When some victims raised alarm, villagers confronted the criminals who fired in the air as they tried to escape. They were cornered after their home made gun ran short of bullets.

Elsewhere, 13 houses of suspected criminals at Iyabe location of Suneka Division were burned down by a mob of over 300 villagers and property worth over Sh200,000 destroyed on Friday.
