Kereri Girls registeres victory

In Kisii, Riondonga Secondary and Kereri Girls registered victories in the Kisii District soccer contests to qualify for the Nyanza provincial championships due this week.


Jonathan Matoke scored in the 66th and 104th minutes to give Riondonga the victory over Gianchere Boys. The losers were the first to score through Francis Orina. In the semis, Riondonga swamped Bongonta 7-0 in a one-sided duel at the Gusii Stadium whereas Gianchere dismissed Mosisa Secondary 4-2.

Kereri Girls dismissed Gesabakwa Secondary 4-2 on post-match penalties after a 0-0 deadlock in extra-time.

Other teams who have qualified for the provincials are Gesabakwa (netball), Nyanturago Girls (volleyball) and Gianchere Boys (volleyball).
