They should instead use their own campaign strategies to enable voters to gauge their capabilities.
Former assistant minister Zephaniah Anyieni (Narc), former MP Zephaniah Nyang'wara (SDP), and Mr Koina Onyancha (KSC), said in Bomachoge that it was wrong for their rivals to invoke the name of Mr Nyachae in their campaigns. "We should be assessed on the basis of what we promise to deliver once elected," said Mr Nyang'wara.
"Bomachoge constituents have resolved to support Mr Nyachae for the presidency, but his name should not be used in campaigns."
Speaking at various points in Ogembo Division during a campaign tour, Mr Nyang'wara accused some of the contestants of using vulgar language against their opponents "instead of telling the electorate what they planned to do if elected".
Mr Anyieni said he respected Mr Nyachae and would want to avoid maligning him despite the party's acrimonious nominations.
He pledged to restore order on the Gucha/Trans Mara border, and appealed to his rivals to shun violence
Other contestants for the seat are Mr Joel Onyancha (Ford-People), Mr Zachariah Nyarang'o (Kanu), Dr Naftal Oirere (KNC) and Mr Simeon Ogari (NLP).
